It's funny how falling feels like flying
Was watching a movie called "Crazy Heart", a movie on country music singer 'Bad Blake'. He sang a song that really touched my heart;
its worded as : It's funny how falling feels like flying...for a little while....
Isn't it lovely. Falling surely does feel like flying for a little while, until your brain sets an alarm 'Terrain...Terrain' and you fall with a thud. The line reminds me of the many falls I have gone thru, and may be all of us have. They say words have great power, they indeed do.
But life is all about falling and flying. You fall, you get up, fly to fall again, fly again, may be not to fall again. It just gets bad when you fall and and don't wanna get up and fly again. Never do that. It might be late, but better late than never.
Just a thought to share...enjoy!!!

Procrastination
Hi All,
Gadgets of technology or snippets of philosophy, burning national issues or subtle emotional endeavors, I love to write about all. I have always been a man of lots of words, and those who have been bitten with my bug know it by experience. My nuances can be nuisances for many, my knowledge can be saturated for many and my versatility of discussion can be a curse to many but, I am still never bogged down in life because I just love it. Its just that I believe there is so much to learn around that I wish I can be associated with every event in this world. You would be wondering why have I suddenly chosen a path of self introduction in this post, its because today I want to talk about a contrast. A contrast to my nature, a contrast called Procrastination.
Brushing through the host of spams that our mail accounts are loaded with now-a-days, I accidently opened a very old mail. Eyes were stuck at a highlighted part of the subject, it read "wordsfromdebashish.blogspot.com". That sound known, Oh yes, I know that blog, it's my blog. Oh gosh, I have a blog. Yes for sure I have a blog! When was the last time I saw my own blog, I don't remember. Why? I don't know. Ok lets login. Thanks to the google 'baba', all related sites are linked with the same account so no issues remembering one of the dozen passwords that often take the most of our memories now-a-days. So this is what my blog looked like. It was like visiting your grandma's place after twenty years and trying to make your way through the scores of weeds and creepers that have captured the once beautiful place. Nostalgic...noway, a few seconds of fiddling around the blog made the weeds disappear and it suddenly felt as fresh as on the day of the first post. I saw the date on my last post or should I say the last of the only two I had written, and it read September 2009. I did not need to look at the watch to know it was April 2011 now. 18 months since I had not logged in to my own blog. A blog that I had created just to pen down the numerous thoughts that keep buzzing in my mind. The blog which I named " Srijan..the birth of thoughts" for the very meaning of it. So why did it slip of my regular routine. It seemed in contrast to my own way of life. Was it me! Wait! Just pause here, tag this part in your mind, we will return here later.
Let me take you to Kanpur for some time now, year 1998, time of the Xth board exams, sitting on a chair I am supposed to be studying. Supposed to be but not doing it. I had a newspaper doing the job of a wallpaper on the wall in front of my table, those glossy Sunday Times if you remember. Surrounded around it were a host of cars and bike pics sourced from all sorts of places. My passion of automobiles had overtaken the fear of the exams and surely for hours I was enjoying the feast of those pics. Suddenly I start reading an article in the newspaper. It was saying something about a strange word called procrastination. Proc...rast...ination..what! I had heard it for the first time, so I went on with the subject. By the time I had finished reading, I had realised that the bug had stuck me badly and I was badly procrastinating in terms of my studies at that time.
Ok! Now retrieve our tagged story (its facebook effect seems, tagged this, tagged that). I have never forgotten my introduction to the word and world of procrastination. And today I was being reminded of the same, as fresh as it was on that day in 1998. A passion of writing and penning down my thoughts had been overcast with the clouds of procrastination. It's a bad bug for sure. But how and why does it grow in you. Lets ponder over this thought for some time. My experience says we all love procrastinating, after all we all have had dozens of things that have been delayed for reasons unknown. Think back and you find there was a mouth organ you wanted to buy, there was mountain you wanted to ride to, there was this, there was that. I was more worried because I found myself procrastinating on my own passion of writing. There is a very thin line between procrastination and laziness. Or in other words procrastination grows symbiotically over the weed of laziness. Was I being lazy all this time or was it procrastination, or was it about being so busy in life that I forgot my passions. No...I wasn't so busy, I don't live life like that, then how. Well I still don't have a concrete answer or may be I would like to keep my answer to myself. But do you have an answer? Have you been bitten by this bug? Have a take on it for your own good.
Most pharma companies have stopped investing in Molecule research so for sure we aren't getting a vaccine for this nuisance any soon, but the idea of living with your passions has suddenly been bolted into my mind, what about you? I plan to have a post on this blog latest every week, whats your plan?
This was like a short documentary in written form, hope it can play some chords on your guitar too.

A travelling freak.....freaks...
Hello friends...its been a long wait for me and all those who wanted to read more on this blog.
Well I have had mixed reactions over the first post on my blog...some wanted it to be more factual, while others could read between the lines.....but as they say...its the best which comes out fresh....so this time too I'll try to keep my word'y cousine to the best of my own taste with a little tadka for all.
So it goes so that in the first week of September I landed here in Germany for official work. We call it an Integration test for an Indian customer...our very own TATA STEEL. It had all started in utter haste...when I was finally spending a long awaited holiday with my parents, a holiday that was planned for a week and was eventually cut down to 3 days for all obvious official reasons. The day I returned back to Kolkata, (for those who do not know, I work there) expecting some time to prepare for this long journey, I was told that we would be flying the same day within the next 6 hours. Well I have always loved travelling and specially such last minute plans, but this was a bit too much, that too when you gotta pack bags, buy the essentials, meet a few friends and to the worst, even go to the office. Well, fighting to the last breath, I was told that due to a highly efficient workforce we could not get a direct Frankfurt flight and we would be flying via Turkey. That sound interesting, Turkey...Istanbul...wish I could get a transit VISA!!!! But there was a topping to our travelling pizza, Turkish Airlines flies from Delhi only, so we needed to fly to Delhi, ironically that was the same place I had flew from right in the morning of the same day. So I said to myself, dear debashish, just fasten your seat belt, coz u are gonna have a fun of a lifetime now. Well the travel tale has a nice twist, domestic airlines fly their last birds latest by 9:00 PM, we got the one that flew at 7, meaning we were at Delhi by 10 pm...interestingly, the flight to Istanbul was at 04:00 AM..a whole 6 hours of wait at Delhi Airport...thats long yaar..that too when you are a bit tired. Well the good thing was that Mr. Airtel provides free internet at the airport...the bad thing was, only for an hour...So we enjoyed the Delhi wait doing all that we could..exploring the new airport..for which I personally have all praise for making it look international in most senses.
To be truthful (and most adams and may be a few eves would agree), there is one thing which is always quite lovely at the airport..the lovely, all smiles, charming air-hostesses. They are like the silver lining on the cloud and being on the international side you realise and very proudly so, that we share the nationality with the most beautiful ones. The reds, the yellows and few in the rainbows...may be beauty has no words. We agree or not but once or always we have glanced at them with a hearty smile, I call it the Adam's gift of senses..
And so it went on and when I saw the watch it was finally the time of flight...welcome on board..Turk-Hava-Yolari..or in short Turkish Airlines. A simple yet hospitable flight with exquisite cousine....I was tired so couldnt wait to try sleeping..and sometimes was successful too....
...The captain speaks...we are about to land at Istanbul......Istanbul, the land of the Blue Mosque..wonderful capital surrounded with lots of water bodies. And I finally stepped into a foreign land...Turkey (unfortunately only the airport). We were three of us, and our travelling senses were compelling us to visit the grand city, but the unfortunate aspect of modern world, security, ...we are not allowed transit VISA, sometimes your color tone speaks more than it should. No grudges, we made it this way..but the airport was no less than a beautiful place and the wait for 3 hours got over seemingly a bit too early. The next flight was courtesy the same airlines, so we had already a pre-hand experience of what was on the offer. Flying through the sun we finally landed at Frankfurt, after almost about 20 hrs since I left my home in Kolkata....and friends...the journey isn't over yet...we had another hour and a half to travel by car to reach our destination.
Hilchenbach, a small town towards the north of Frankfurt...a land of forests and extreme natural beauty...was our destination. I often tell my colleagues..."yahan aakar saans lene ka mann karta hai";(feel like taking deep breaths in the openness of this land). I haven't had the luck of visiting many big cities of Germany, but hats off to the people who planned 397 kms of well laid forest walk routes inside the dense forests in Germany. Hilchenbach is one place on route those many kilometers, famous for forest explorations and trekking.
Its been more than a month here now and this place never ceases to amaze me with its beauty.
There have been some great additions in my gadget store here, and the greatest of all is a D-SLR camera, Nikon D-3000. Cost me a fortune, but it has given me an opportunity to capture the beauty of this paradise. But one thing I can say...and thank the creator of the best engineered camera, the human Eye for giving us this gift, what you can see and perceive can never be captured by any camera.
Friends, this blog is just a medium to pen down my thoughts and share some nice moments with all those who like to share the essence of life with me. Its never an aim to offend any one with words or satires. I would love to have your comments on this post and any free words from you, all that would improve the communication between two human souls.
Till the next post...enjoy reading and best of luck for all future endeavours.......

virgin words...
Hello All,
My wishes to those who would like to ponder over this arena of words...
Being my first post on this blog, its vital to introduce myself to all those who would like to reserve some space of memory for me...and even for those who feel, there are things much more relevant.
Well, hope you have figured out my name from some corner of this site already, if not..I am Debashish, the author of this blog!!! Pretty late in the blogging arena, but as they say, better late than never.
This isn't a place to post my resume, so I wont indulge into utter basics of my Intro, rather just sum it up as...I am as crazy as I can be. Explaining myself has always been an uphill task for me, and often I have been in dearth of words for it. I am a very fun loving person who believes life needs to be lived to the fullest, to the extreme. I always believe to add life to years and not the other way round. Friends are my life, and emotions are my strength. My sensitivity index often leaves my control system highly unstable....and you can presume truthfully that I am an Instrumentation Engineer by qualification with those words. People often feel that I have got most things in life without much efforts, and I duly second with they being just people, the "existence exaggerated" of mother earth.
Somebody has said, "There are two types of men in the world; the reasonable and the unreasonable; The reasonable are busy trying to prove the proven, while the unreasonable are always busy trying to prove the unproven". If you are reasonable enough, you would have figured out by now, where I belong, of-course in the unreasonable cadre. And if the unreasonable man in you has suddenly risen, you are just increasing competition.
Life has so much to teach us, there is so much to learn, that it often seems useless to indulge in many other activities. Science and technology feed my brain and bringing it to use to the people is my food for thought. Dreams are as big as I am, and I often faulter in climbing up that high, but I never like to give up.
I don't believe in God the way most of us do, but in whatever form he is, I thank him for always giving me a friend when I needed one the most.
The people who taught me the basics of life, my parents, gave me a "mool mantra", treat men/women as humans and not as entities. And I have always believed in it from the basics, with exceptions.
While just going thru' these words again, I suddenly felt, I could take 'I' common and would end up reducing ten percent of the words. Well, thats what I feel is the biggest of the challenges for all of us, to take the 'I' common, and reduce the egotism in our lives.
These virgin words for my blog are just a beginning to share my thoughts and pen (type) down those intertwined with my gray matter.
Life for me, is a cradle of immense opportunities to learn and make our existence worthwhile. Thanks for those who had the patience to go thru' the entire stretch of this post...and for those who couldn't, I know we need reasonable men to let the world sustain itself, so no offences.
So with the extremes of 'unreasonability' I welcome you to the land of "Srijan...the birth of thoughts...", feel free to put your comments in any form you like. I called this blog with this name as I feel, we all have the power to create ....,what is of-course a matter of choice; and as an engineer, "Srijan" is my way of life. So hope its a pleasant experience to be here and hope you are here again many a times more.
They once said; an engineer knows how to create, destroy and recreate.
